Spam Disclaimer
In 2003 the Federal Government passed the Spam Act 2003 (“the SPAM Act’). This Act is administered by the Australian Communications and Media Authority (“the ACMA”).
The SPAM Act makes it unlawful to send unsolicited messages of a commercial nature (including emails and SMS messages) and provides for a penalty if individuals or organisations send messages of this nature without the consent of the recipient.
Types of electronic messaging used by Gateway Financial Partners
At Gateway Financial Partners we use electronic communications to provide services and information to our clients. As accountants and financial advisors, we pride ourselves on keeping our clients informed and do this a number of ways including direct email communication between a member of our staff and a client, our regular newsletter and through special promotional material.
How we comply with the Spam Act
To ensure compliance with the Spam Act, Gateway Financial Partners is committed to only sending electronic communications to clients who have consented to receiving such communications.
A client can either give their consent expressly or consent can be inferred by a number of factors considered by the Act.
As a valued client, there will be an implied consent for us to send you electronic communications as outlined above.
We also (from time to time) send electronic communications to individuals or organisations that we have had some pre-existing contact with and/or who have published their email address in a conspicuous place.
Easy to opt-out and unsubscribe
While it is our intention to provide our clients with useful information we respect your right to choose whether you wish to receive electronic communications from us and we are committed to making it easy for you to opt-out if you chose to do so.
We will ensure that all emails from Gateway Financial Partners clearly identify the sender and provide an easy link for you to unsubscribe if you do not wish to receive this type of correspondence form us in the future.
Staff Use of Email
Many of our staff at Gateway Financial Partners use email as a convenient way to communicate with clients from both our accounting and financial advising practices areas. Gateway Financial Partners has a strict policy against staff sending or forwarding unsolicited email and provides training and support to our staff to ensure that this does not occur either intentionally or inadvertently.
